About us

We are Frank & Liesbeth Houtstra, and we warmly welcome you to this beautiful yet lesser-known part of the Netherlands. Yes, the seal sanctuary certainly put Pieterburen on the map, but there's so much more. As for Frank: I grew up in Groningen, and the space and tranquility of this area have always stayed with me. I know the local character and feel at home here. My mother was born there, and my grandparents lived at Hoofdstraat 17. What could be better than working in this area in a field so closely related to my current field of cycling holidays? This is where "our" type of guest comes: cyclists, hikers, groups of friends hiking in the mudflats, those seeking peace and quiet. This is our opportunity to introduce our guests to this lesser-known area.
